our story
Eight years, three cities, one silver Vespa. Here is the long version.
study sessions and a silver vespa
It started as study sessions at Cal. Sophomore year, midterms, the usual. Two people in the same library at the same hours, week after week, not admitting to anything.
It probably would have stayed just that, if it weren't for the silver Vespa rides. Berkeley is a hard city to drive and an easy one to ride through, and the rides turned into detours, and the detours turned into us.
three years, two coasts
After graduation, life sent us in opposite directions. Sabrina to LA for medical school, Gavin to New York, recruited by a startup. Three years of long distance followed, measured out in flights, time zones, and the specific math of who was flying where next.
It was not the easy version of a relationship. It was, in hindsight, the one that settled the question.
the biggest surprise of her life
Gavin convinced his company to let him work remote for Sabrina's fourth and final year of medical school. We moved in together, the first time in years we lived in the same zip code.
Not long after, in a proposal more than half a year in the making, he asked. Her dad flew in. Her best friends flew in. She had no idea, even when Gavin nearly gave it away seconds before.
home, and a very fast dog
Now we're building a home together in NYC. Sabrina becoming a surgeon at Mount Sinai, Gavin climbing the ranks at Siro, and our rescue pup Ria playing her heart out at Central Park every day.
On October 30, 2027, we're getting married at the Prospect Park Boathouse, twenty minutes from the apartment where all of this finally stopped being long distance.
This is where our story catches up to now. The rest, we can't wait to write with all of you.
